Monday Motivation – It’s Time to Relax!

It’s Monday and time to get up, get going, and get shit done! Or is it? I know it’s Monday and I know we all have to head back to work but does that mean that we can’t take a little time to kick our feet up and do a little bit of nothing at all? Or may a bit of whatever the hell we want to do?

This week I actually won’t be at work. My lady took last week off and stayed home and worked on the house a bit. This week she is not only back to work, but also out of town, so I thought I’d take some time off too. Seems fair, right?

I’ve never been off of work this long before, or at least not by choice. I’ve also never been away from my girlfriend for this long either. This week is going to be very interesting and I am thinking maybe I might learn a little something about myself.

I hope to learn if I handle some time alone with my own thoughts. I hope to learn if I can manage my time without any structure. I hope to learn what I can accomplish on my own.

I have a bunch of things I want to do. I want to work on learning more math and science for my 30-day Challenge. I want to finish watching some educational videos and some TED Talks I have saved up. I want to write about what I am learning.

I want to finish up some of the posts I have rotting away in “Drafts”.

I want to take the dog out and work on some training stuff for her. I want to take her to the park to sleep under tress while I write some more.

I want to clean my house from top to bottom. I want to throw out all the junk that has collected in closets, in the basement, and under the stairs.

I want to make some real progress in a book and get through all the articles I’ve saved to read later.

I might be relaxing but that doesn’t mean I have to stay on the couch and zone out in Netflix shows and movies. I can do a few things I’ve wanted to do but didn’t have the time for. I can catch up in all the areas in my life that I feel I have gotten behind in.

And I can also stay busy enough that I can cope with being alone in this big house for a few days.

Either way I am motivated and I am going to do my best to enjoy my time away from my job. I hope you can find some time to relax and accomplish a few things from your list. Or maybe you need to lay on the couch and zone out for a bit, that can be good for you too.

Whatever it is you need to do I hope you can do it.
