If We Were Having Coffee // Birthdays and Snowdays

Hello and happy Sunday dear reader. If there was ever a day for big cups of hot coffee or tea, today is that day. Here in usually colorful Colorado, we have been dealing with yet another one of our signature spring storms. It hs been snowing nonstop since overnight Friday and the temps have been hovering around freezing. By the end of the week, we’ll be back in the 70’s though.

If we were having coffee I would tell you that because of the crappy weather I had to postpone all of my birthday plans this week. Actually, I postponed the brunch but that might actually mean more people can come, and I postponed a visit with family. I was able to get in a crab and oyster dinner with my girlfriend before the snow started Friday night. God, I love oysters :)

My actually birthday fell on Wednesday, the 13th. I forgot to request the day off from work like I usually do I so went in and tried to lay low. That night I got flowers and lavender macarons and I finally got round to seeing Batman v Superman. I liked the movie but I was a little disappointed in parts of it. It’s one of those situations where you read the book so you know what they left out, but if you hadn’t read the book you would probably love the movie.

Oh well, now we can all focus on making the Wonder Woman movie a reality, yes?

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I am having a great time with the Blogging A to Z challenge this year. I am also completely stressed out by it as well. So far I have surprised myself, I wasn’t sure I could make it this far and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to come up with enough ideas. I wish I had started writing these posts sooner, though. I’m in constant danger of falling behind and my schedule this week is week is going to leave me with very little time.

BUT if I do this, if I am able to keep coming up with ideas, if I’m able to write them every day, and if I keep getting good feedback, I will be so proud of myself. I already am and if I had to quit now I would definitely feel like a winner, but if I make it to Z? I might just treat myself to another oyster dinner :)

If we were having coffee I would tell you that not much else has been going on around here. Overall it was a good week and I enjoyed being able to focus on my hobbies and not just work. I think right now I am just trying to stay positive and do what I can. The end of the school year is less than six weeks away and that means my work routine will become much more relaxed. I am even thinking about taking a whole week off sometime in July.

Home life has been good. The dog is still hyper and the cat is still grouchy. The snakes are always hiding and the plants haven’t died yet. Everybody’s good

If we were having coffee I would tell you that I had better get going. Sundays are for preparing for the week and I have a ton to do. Besides all the housework I have, I want to get a headstart on a few posts around here.

I hope you had a great week and I hope you enjoy what is left of the weekend. If you have time leave a comment and let me know what you have been up to, I do love hearing from you :)

  1. A late happy birthday! The last few days have been gorgeous on the east coast. Finally! I think we’ve had more snow since it’s been officially spring than we had all winter. Have a great week!

  2. Well happy birthday! I love a good cup of coffee or tea, but you can keep the oysters! I joined AtoZ to get back into the routine of writing more often, and it’s worked. And I’ve connected to people in the blogosphere, too – I forgot how great that is.

Good luck with the rest of it! My work schedule is getting busier too, so I will post by hook or by crook, but may not have time for so much commenting.
